PR & Social Media Internship



Joie de Vie Weddings & Events is currently screening applicants for this position. The prestigious company that is offering this position is a leading wedding and event firm in Orlando, Florida . This unique opportunity offers students hands-on, real-world training to learn what it takes to effectively promote Joie de Vie through productive projects, performance feedback, valuable networking, and educational opportunities within the industry.



Joie de Vie will offer an internship position to a qualified individual/student seeking a learning opportunity in the Public Relations or Event Planning industry. This position will be exposed to the many facets of Public Relations and Social Media, including writing, itinerary creation, social media post development, local industry exposure, budget and performance reporting, and a strong knowledge of the event industry and assets available in Central Florida. Students may opt for college credit or monthly stipend. Student will work a minimum of 15 hours a week and a maximum of 20 hours a week, with lunch breaks. Hours can be completed in full days or half days as previously determined by the employer’s needs and the intern’s availability.   • Update and draft basic public relations materials such as fact sheets, backgrounders, social media content, blog posts, media alerts, calendar announcements, advertorials, meeting summaries, event case studies and other marketing collateral materials as directed  

  • Create and maintain media lists and editorial calendars for local, regional and national outlets

  • Conduct media research to support media pitching and key initiatives  

  • Coordinate the itineraries of visiting journalists, from preparation to post follow-up  

  • Assist with updates to the online press site and other administrative duties as assigned

  • Assist in event planning and execution  

  • Maintain project budgets and in-kinds

  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and departmental meetings



The successful candidate will be results-oriented, self-directed and well organized. This person should have the ability to establish and shift priorities in a dynamic environment and possess at a minimum, the following qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Hospitality, or related field

  • Strong desire for hands-on learning in the event and event management industry

  • Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, with knowledge of AP Style

  • Working knowledge of the internet, blogs, social media strategies, online media distribution channels and utilization/implementation in active digital/print promotions

  • Excellent computer literacy with experience using Google Apps, Google Platform, Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Ability to think creatively and analytically

  • Knowledge of how to strategically leverage social media

  • Attention to detail and organization

  • Adapt to working on deadlines and balancing multiple projects

  • Team player with a positive cooperative attitude

  • Self-motivated, self-starter able to work independently
